I've been really tired lately, and my sleep pattern is off again. I go to bed really early but wake up for a couple hours around three in the morning before going back to sleep until six or seven. At least the going-to-bed time and waking-up times are consistent, but the hour or so in the middle where I'm awake is less than ideal. I'm not 100% why this is happening again. I'm not terribly stressed right now, and I have a pretty regular schedule when I'm awake.

After looking at my life changes lately, I have it narrowed down to a few things.

1. Working full time and staring at two huge computer monitors all day has made my eyes really tired (sleepy!eyes), but my brain has a hard time staying unfocused for long periods of time (awake!brain). Maybe my brain just wants to be ~incepted~ since I've read so much Eames/Arthur fic lately. *kanyeshrug*

2. I've started drinking about 7oz of Dr. Pepper in the morning to stay awake, so I sugar crash about two hours before the end of my shift and pass out when I get home. One of my coworkers who is a health nut, noticed I was tired this week and said I should stop having soda for breakfast and eat more fruit (I eat so much fruit, though) and have some complex carbs in the afternoon. I'm switching to tea for breakfast drinkage this week and bringing in some more crackers and cashews for snacks, to see if that helps.

I think I've been eating very well lately, especially compared to before I moved. I don't eat out often, and make an effort to have full, balanced meals at least twice a day. But I am a little lax at work because I eat out of boredom and I eat what's convenient.

3. It could also be my meds. They supposedly cause drowsiness, but when I first started them they kept me wired, so I take them in the morning. I'm still tired in the morning, so I'm thinking of switching to taking them at night. I have an appointment with the doctor this week to get a refill and to see if that's something she suggests.

Today was my day off and I...
  • got groceries
  • did the dinner dishes (from steak and mushrooms last night)
  • made breakfast (cheesey eggs, bacon, juice, English muffins)
  • nursed Wifey
  • wrote a little
  • paid rent
  • got more groceries
  • did the breakfast dishes
  • cleaned the kitchen
  • made dinner (beef stroganoff)
  • made dessert (apple crumble)
  • picked up the house
  • vacuumed
  • sorted laundry
  • put fresh sheets on the bed

Putting it in a list like that makes me feel like I got a lot of shit done today, but it doesn't feel like I did all that much. I think I'm becoming a housewife. And I really enjoy it. I like making dinner and fruity desserts and keeping house and taking care of sick Wifey. I used to think I'd make a terrible wife but I think I'm pretty good at it. What is my life?

I have social interaction overload, so this weekend, I'm going to sit on my ass and forget that the rest of the world needs my constant attention.

(The exceptions being: going shopping tomorrow, going to knitters' breakfast tomorrow, and possibly going to crafternoon on Sunday.)

I'm going to do this one! Who's with me?

  • finish story I started because I was bored with NaNo
  • write hurricane party fic for [profile] josieonlj
  • hawt makeup sex between two characters in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (DO NOT EVEN JUDGE)
  • put together stuff for Shorthand For Slutty
  • give old keys back to the landlord tomorrow
